If Every Fallen Leaf

If every fallen leaf was a letter from me,
Would you pick them up and keep them in your wallet?
Would you hear my words as they rustle on the ground around you?
Would you smile when the wind kisses your cheeks and caresses your hair,
For some part of it could be me?
Would you leave a trace of your fingers on the skin of the trees you see,
For me to breathe if you may not be waiting?
Would you see me as my favourite flowers, my heart learnt quotes or my unwritten poems?
For you may not love what the world sees-
A half burnt match, a broken city;
A perturbed sail , an apology.
If I was standing in a corner of the world
like a gatecrasher in a funny party,
Would you see me, like I see you? Would you remember that I exist…in a thousand ways around you?
